Ambarella A7LS - High-Performance 1080p60 Sports Camera SoC

The A7LS SOC enables a new class of wireless sports 1080p60 video cameras with low system power and high performance.
Designed for connected sports cameras, the A7LS can simultaneously capture full HD video while streaming a second mobile-resolution live video over a WiFi network for preview or sharing.

Ambarella’s software enables the camera to be controlled wirelessly from a smartphone or other remote device. A unique architecture and 32-nm process technology minimize power consumption while maximizing performance. Burst capture and time-lapse modes provide powerful still image capture tools..

Ambarella A7 - Hybrid DV/DSC 1080p60 Camera SoC

The A7 delivers full HD 1080p60 or 4Mp30 H.264 video recording, the highest resolution available for consumer level cameras. Its fast high-speed sensor interface and capture capability of 500 MPixels/s enables numerous new features including smooth slow-motion replay for sports action, high dynamic range (HDR) processing, and best-picture from a series of shots.

Outstanding still image quality is achieved even in low-light conditions through the combination of high-ISO speed, 3D motion-compensated noise reduction (MCTF) and multiple exposures.

A second stream, which may be encoded simultaneously with the Full HD video, can be streamed to a network over WiFi or 3G/4G using a network-enabled application running on the high-performance 528MHz ARM 11 processor.

Ambarella Full HD 3D Camera Solution

The Ambarella Full HD 3D Camera Solution (S3D) enables full HD 1080p 3D video recording and high-resolution 3D photography with exceptional image quality.

The S3D connects to two standard CMOS image sensors and processes the image data to create a single video stream for the A5s or A7 camera SoCs. It also supports the display of 3D video and still images on the cameras 3D LCD display.

When combined with Ambarella’s A7 HD camera SoC, the S3D enables development of cameras up to 1080p60 resolution, while combining it with Ambarella’s A5s HD camera SoC enables resolutions of 1080p30, 1080i60 or 720p60. Both the A7 and A5s feature dual stream H.264 encoding, enhanced image stabilization with rolling shutter correction for CMOS sensors, excellent low-light imaging, wireless connectivity options, and extremely low-power consumption.

The S3D can accept input from CMOS sensors with MIPI, parallel, or SLVDS interfaces and supports runtime parallax adjustment. It also supports HDMI 1.4 3D information, so that the camera can automatically trigger the 3D television to enter 3D mode without manual control of the television’s HDMI input.

The combination of S3D and an Ambarella SoC forms the engine for a high-quality, consumer-priced, 3D digital video capture product.

Ambarella A9 Ultra HD 4K Camera SoC

The Ambarella A9 Camera SOC enables development of the next generation of HD and Ultra-HD video cameras with leading-edge video features and exceptional still-image quality.
