Chris Day joined Ambarella in 2010 as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development.
Day has over 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry with the last fifteen in digital video and multimedia. Prior to joining Ambarella, Day was President and CEO of Mobilygen, a startup video compression company focused primarily on video surveillance applications. Mobilygen was acquired by Maxim Integrated Products in October, 2008.
Prior to Mobilygen, Day was General Manager of Media Processing at NXP (formerly Philips Semiconductor) where he successfully led The TriMedia DSP efforts into video-over-IP, automotive, security, and display markets.
Before Philips, Day was Senior Director of Marketing for C-Cube Microsystems, the market leader in MPEG video compression. At C-Cube, Day was responsible for marketing and applications in both the Codec and Broadband Network Divisions. Day has also held senior sales and marketing positions at AuraVision, Motorola, and Hitachi (UK).
Day has a BSc in Computer and Microprocessor Systems from Essex University, UK, and an MBA from Santa Clara University in California.
